Up, Up, and Away....

I don't think I will post any layouts today..I need to get my scrapping mojo in order, but I thought I would post a few pictures from the NJ Festival if Ballooning that we went to this weekend.

This Darth Vader balloon is really cool. It was the first time that this balloon has ever been launched in the US!

Mr. Roboto

I finally took out my huge stash of Cosmo Cricket Cogsmo paper, diecuts, and Blackboard shapes and letters. I spent a few hours with glue all over my hands trying to put together all the little components of the robots, gears, and gadgets. So here they are, so cute.. Too cute that I don't think I will be able to place them on a layout and file them away. So I think that I am going to attach some magnets to the back of them and put them on the side of my refrigerator.
Isabel, my daughter, loves robots. I don't know why..she just does.. She especially loves
WALL-E and it was her very first movie she went to see in the theatre. So what a perfect opportunity it was to use some of my Cogsmo papers to scrap it.
Takashi Murakami, the Japanese artist famous for those funky colored Louis Vuitton bags, had an exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum of Art recently which we went to see. You weren't actually allowed to take pictures inside the exhibit, but I took a few of the display outside. Very Cool. Have a great day!!

Dance, Dance, Dance!!

My 3 year old started her first dancing class this Summer and she loves it. It is so cute watching little girls in leotards and tap shoes dancing around. I took a bunch of photos the first few sessions and finally got around to making some layouts using a bunch of dance-themed supplies that I had been hoarding for almost a year. You know, when you buy stuff for their Kindergarten layouts, when they are only 2??

Speaking of hoarding supplies, I have been really trying to use up a lot of my stash.

I did this layout using those foam stamps from the LB CK Kit of the month that everyone HAD TO HAVE back in jan/feb. I thought I would use them all the time, but they just sit and collect dust in my laundry room. Of course, this was also before I discovered the world of acrylic stamps.
Here is a layout that I did using my My Mind's Eye papers and embellishments. I love MME and I tend to collect pieces of it in mass quantities because the papers are so pretty and the little tags and embellishments are so versatile. I also love this layout because I used and 8x10" photo and I just love using huge photos.
Finally, here is a little layout of my daughter and her little friend sharing ice cream cones. I used those BG Cupcake papers (I think I have 4 sheets of that awesome ice cream paper) and I dotted the AC Thickers with color using my MS markers.
Have a wonderful day! It is supposed to rain cats and dogs here for the next two days..Hopefully, I will get some good scrapping time in..

TGIF

Happy Friday!! CHA Summer is now in full swing and I can't wait to hear the reports and see the pictures from all the ladies who are there. I think that my personal favorites so far are :

Pink Paislee Vintage Moon

Tinkering Ink Becoming Green Kraft Paper,
and all the new Cosmo Cricket
Sasafrass lines.

My July Bad Girls kit arrived the other day.
It is their first anniversary and they debuted their first exclusive stamp, so this was a special kit. It is filled with tons of MM Noteworthy & Sassafrass paper.

Here is a layout from it..

I have been busy creating with my MM Passport
products from both the AMM and SC July kits.
I also did a layout using up my scraps from my SC April Kit:
I also did a layout using some random supplies from my stash. I love those Amy Butler glitter flowers and I found the perfect ribbon for it at Michael's for a $1.
Finally, I learned a valuable lesson this week. MS punches CANNOT BE USED on TRANSPARENCIES!! I broke my adorable little butterfly punch trying to punch through a piece of Hambly. Needless to say, I will be returning to Michael's to get myself a new one.
Have a great weekend!

July Summer Sunset

Last night we had such a pretty sunset. My backyard had this beautiful pink glow surrounding it and the sky was full of blue and pink. I ran outside to take a picture of the beautiful sky.
As I type, the President is talking about the economy and the ticker on the screen is showing how awful the markets are doing. I need something happy..
Got something:
These Prima "Say it in Crystals" are so pretty. I hate using them since they are so lovely.

I have been REALLY trying to use some of my older kits up. I made a layout finishing up my March AMM kit:

And 1 with the AMM June Kit:
I did two layouts with my SC June kit:
And Finally, (Yes, I am a manic scrapper!!) Here's a bunch of layouts from the SC July kit. (1 is repeated in the collage. I didn't scrap the same thing twice.)
Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Playtime

Happy Friday! Boy, the weeks just fly by..Especially in the Summer. For the first time yesterday, I heard the cicadas in my backyard which officially means Summer is in full swing..

I decided to play with my new markers and go back to just having some fun stamping and coloring. I finally got out some Pink Paislee stamps I had bought a while back and made a layout of Isabel coloring.

Yesterday, was a Good Mail Day! How can you not love this?

I got some Philosphy shower gels from QVC and my Studio Calico July kit which is chock FULL of MM Passport.

I also got the Add-On "Venice" (even MORE Passport!!)
I definitely think that this collection is one of the hottest ones around this Summer. I can't wait to create with it!

Here is a layout I made with some of the 3 Bugs In A Rug items that I got in my AMM NSD prize.
And Finally, this little guy sits on my neighbors lawn..Little does he know that he is starring in one of my layouts that I did with the AMM July Kit.
Today we are taking Isabel to see WALL-E..her first movie ever..Then to sushi..her favorite.
Tomorrow, I plan to go to my LSS as they are having a pretty good sale right now and I need some more scrap supplies HA HA HA!!!
Tomorrow night, are some rescheduled fireworks from our rainy 4th of July so that should be fun as the weather is supposed to be Fabulous this time around.
Have a wonderful weekend!!

A pic, some layouts, & a shopping report

I hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend! I didn't get to take my fireworks pictures as I was sitting in a car in the rain watching them. Oh well.
I thought I would share a couple of finds with everyone.

First, I went to Target and I bought some of these foam alphas in the 1$ spot. They look very similar to the AC Thickers and they do have good sticking power. I saw them in blue and red and got both. They also had lots of new items with 4th of July/Summer Themes. They also had some Alpha Chipboards (with the positive and negative shape) that reminded me of the Scenic Route chipboard I just got in my AMM July Kit. Bring on the clones!!

Also, I had been meaning to get to Wal-Mart to check out the MS crafts products there as I heard they had some items that were different than what I've seen at Michael's. I got the cornice punch, some mini inkpads, a neat dual-tipped black pen, and some cool embellishments that will go great with the MM Passport collection that is so hot lately.

Finally, I decided to get a new set of MS colored markers. The colors are so bright and fresh and I feel like a kid with a new set of crayons!!

I have been plugging away with my June Studio Calico kit. I had gotten the pattern paper add-on with this kit, so I just keep going and going.... I think I will save some of it, particularly the apple and more woodland-themed items for the fall and apple-picking time. I hope I can hold out!!

Have a Fantastic Day!!

Bring on those Lazy days of Summer...

Happy July 1st!! It now feels like it's officially Summer. It's hard to believe that the 4th of July is on Friday. Hopefully the weather will hold up for our area's local parade and fireworks show. I can't wait to try out my "fireworks" feature on my new camera that I got in May.

I was starting to run out of space for all of my scrapbooks and was storing them in three different places. A neighbor of ours is a woodworking hobbyist, so we asked him to create a built-in shelf for our living room. The best part about it is that is goes literally from floor to ceiling and the dimensions were customized around the size of my books!! So now, not only do I have ample storage, but I have plenty of room to grow!! Yay!

I got the notice that my July AMM kit is being shipped so I can't wait for that!

Finally, here is a layout that I did in true Summer style from the June Studio Calico kit.

Stay cool and refreshed!!!
