All Hallow's Eve...

Well, It's the day before Halloween. Isabel has a parade tomorrow at school and the parents get to watch. I can't wait to take photos.
Isabel and I made some Halloween cupcakes yesterday, and of course, she is mad because she can't have one for breakfast.
You can see our "work" below:

In terms of scrapbooking, my mojo has been severely lacking this week. I am not sure what it is...I am waiting for some more pictures in the mail, the cold weather, lack of new stuff--I haven't been buying much at all lately (well, for my standards) I am hoping this shall soon pass as I am trying get inspired from my magazines and the net, but at this point I feel like I am just "window shopping".

I did get a really fabulous kit recently. I mean I think it is my favorite this year at this point. It is my October "Bad Girls Kit". Some of the adorable things in it are those Prima journaling cards, those knit cherries, the exclusive owl stamp, and that fancy packing tape. I really have to hand it to Wendy over there. She really makes her kits quirky and fun. I hesitated a long time before subscribing because it is a little more expensive than some of the other clubs, but it has been so well worth it and I have never had any regrets.

Here are a couple of layouts from the kit:

For some reason, I love making frames for Halloween. I have started a tradition that each year I make a new frame for my daughter in her costume so over the years she can enjoy them and see how muh she's grown.

I just go to Michael's and get the unfinished frames that are a dollar and doctor them up. Here is a picture of them displayed on my mantle..The latest one is in the middle with the owl and acorn inside.
Well, that is all for now...I hope that everyone has a wonderful, safe Halloween!!

Ready for Halloween...

So I gathered all my stash that I have for Halloween and put it all together. I seem to always go overboard on Halloween stuff since it all is so cute. The problem is that each year I have left over product and always manage to get new stuff..The cycle continues..oh well..
Another item that I just love is pom pom trim..

I don't know why, but I love the texture of it..I have large and small sizes, but I decided that the large is really on good for projects besides layouts since it sticks way too high off the page. I used the large size on this banner that I made for my daughter's room earlier this year inspired by a project from the fabulous Katie Watson in Paper Trends Mag.

I am still fighting through this cold that I still haven't shaken, so my creativity has been a little lacking, but I did manage to do a couple of layouts.
Here are a couple of layouts from the Oct. Studio Calico kit:

Finally here is a layout of my daughter in the berry patch that I loved doing using this CI paper and those Pink Paislee rub-ons.

Have a great Thursday!

Happy Fall Friday!

TGIF!! It has been a long week in our house since we all have had colds. Hopefully, we are all finally starting to recover.
My neighbor got me this beautiful berry swag in Upstate NY last weekend. It is just so pretty!! I love the rich colors of the berries.
I thought I would share some of my favorite Halloween finds that I plan on using on my layouts this year.
I got that MS Fence punch that I finally found at Michael's after they got a new shipment in. There is also those Prima Blackbird art strips, some Black Glittery Thickers just perfect for Halloween, some black lace that reminds me of a spiderweb, some black tulle and pom pom trim, and some black and orange felt flowers. Yum!!!
Here is a layout I did using a lot of texture.
I added lots of lace and felt flowers combined with those adorable K & Co. fall die-cuts that I can't get enough of. They make the cutest diecuts for Halloween and Christmas too. You really get your money's worth with a pack of those. They are great for cardmaking too.
I love taking black and white and sepia photos. They make everything feel "vintage" and bring out the innocence of my little girl.
Here is a layout I did using some My Mind's Eye and Graphic 45 papers.
Finally, Here is a CC Mr. Campy layout I did inspired by the plaid on my daughter's shirt and her silly expressions.
I hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend!! Thanks for reading!

It's been too long!!

It's been over a week since I last blogged, but I have a good excuse. I was away in NH last week and didn't have my access to my computer. I missed my little blog.

The last couple of weeks I was busy with the Bad Girl's "Top Designer" contest. On week #3 I was dropped or so I thought, until I was given the opportunity to be "Wild Card#4". That means I was allowed to compete anonymously in Class #4 and I had a whole bunch of extra criteria to adhere to. Class #4 was called "Accessorizing" so I had to make my layout design and embellishments work around the theme of my photo. I had to rack my brain to find a photo and a design to get to the next level. I came up with this one:
I liked the texture of those trees that I painted and added some pom pom apples to them and also added lots of Glossy Accents to the trees and letters to add lots of shine.

So..I passed the class and moved on to Class #5 "Color Psychology" which involved using the colors in your photo as the inspiration for the colors in your layout. I only had a day to work on mine since I was away, but I came up with this layout: that I am still happy with, although, I am not moving on to the last class..That is ok though, because I am happy I got that far in the competition and I have a nasty cold, so my motivation is a little down.

This week's class #6 involves "Breaking all the Rules" and right now I am having trouble staying in the lines as it is with my cold..so I am happy just creating to create..Know what I mean??

Speaking of creating, I basically gobbled up all the paper in my Oct. A Million Memories kit since I got home. The colors were so great for scrapping all of my autumn photos since they were filled with ambers, browns, greens and golds. I also loved the amber crystals and gold Thickers that were so pretty with the papers.
Here are some of my layouts:

That's all for now! I hope that everyone has a great Fall day. The weather here has been so sunny and warm. Just lovely!

Great Mail Day!!

So Today was one of those great mail days. First, my order from Blue Moon Scrapbooking arrived. I got one of those Tim Holtz unmounted stamp cases that I can't wait to open and put all of my loose acrylic stamps in. Then I got some CI fall/Halloween paper, some Theresa Collins fall stickers, some fairy stickers, HS butterflies, 7 gypsies gaffer tape, and some more AC flair and those green Holiday Thickers.

I just love the Customer Service over at Blue Moon. They are always very timely and appreciative of your order. They ship free over $50 AND..they always give lovely freebies with your purchase. Look at the nice product below that they sent me.
I would definitely order from them again.

Also, my old faithful Mailman brought me my October AMM kit that is full of Autumn lovlieness. I would have to say one of my favorite things about this kit club is that at least every other month they send you a mini-album. Great stuff!

Here are pretty much my final layouts using this October Afternoon collection. I love it, but I have to say I am ready to move on..I definitely overindulged on these papers and need to just let a good thing go.

Finally, In my ongoing quest to use up my old stash. I was playing around and made this layout using some Basic Grey paper from last year. I quite like how the green tones in the paper blend so well with the photo.

That's all for now.. Wishing everyone a wonderful Fall weekend!!
