Back from Houston

It's been a few days since I last posted because I went to Houston to visit a friend. We had a great time and I even got to do a little scrap shopping at the By Design Boutique, as well as, my very first visit to a Hobby Lobby. Needless to say, I brought a shopping bag onto the plane home stuffed with paper. I got some of the My Little Shoebox paper with the birdcages and it goes so well with my Studio Calico August Kit.
Here are two layouts using it:

I also got some more KI Memories lace paper as it is so pretty and versatile and really goes a long way. This one is from the SC August kit.
Speaking of pretty stuff. The sequins in my SC Add-on are so fun!

That's it for now, I will leave with one more random photo of a truck I saw just driving down the street..This is one of the craziest things I've ever seen on the road.
. WACKY!

something different

Isn't it fun when you find something so different from the norm.??? The only problem sometimes is what do you do with it? That was the case when I discovered the BAM POP! line. I love it's anime-inspired funkiness, but come on..how versatile is it? Problem solved when I had the perfect pictures to go with it. A couple of months ago I blogged about my trip to the Brooklyn Museum of Art to see the Murakami exhibit. Those pictures from that trip matched perfectly with the BAM POP!! I can't believe how well they go together and they are so different from what I usually go for. Here are the four layouts that I did with the BAM POP!

This next layout may be a little controversial for some, but it was a special treat (for Mommy, not Isabel!) and she looked so cute drinking that drink. My little one loves coffee..She can't help it, it's in her blood (inside joke).
.
Finally, this one just makes me "happy" period...
Have a fabulous Day!!!

New Goodies

I got lots of new goodies this week. First up, was a trip to my LSS to see what was new, which was a lot.

I got some new:
Cosmo Cricket-lots of Mr. Campy papers and die-cut shapes, the halloween die-cuts and blackboard.
American Crafts paper and a bunch of new Thickers (You know I NEED some-see 2 posts below for reference)
Pink Paislee- a couple of Vintage Moon papers and alpha's
some more Heather Bailey Paper (see below again)
and some really great May Arts trims that look all natural and vintage.

I am so proud of myself that I actually got some new stuff right out and made a couple of layouts.
One with Mr. Campy:

And with some new A. Crafts:

Lastly, I opened my August Kit from Studio Calico (check out my new blinkie on the right) and I love it.
The stamps are so gorgeous and I of course love these colors.

I also got the add-on this month (thank goodness for that F&F coupon!)
This one just knocked my flip-flops off!! The bright colors are so perfect for late-Summer photos and I so love the KI Memories butterflies. I love how they paired it with some SEI Poppy which I already have a bunch of so the more the merrier!!!
Have a Wonderful Weekend. Thanks for dropping by.

Summer Scrap Space

I love the Summer because I can take my scrapping outside and create in the fresh air. I love this little caddy that I picked up in Michael's because I can just bring it out onto my deck and work.

It holds all my core essentials:

My Doodlebug Designs self-healing mat

Heidi Swapp distresser and sand paper

Martha Stewart craft pens

ColorBox cats eye ink pads and acrylic stamp block

Glue Dots, Dbl-sided tape, and my Aleen's Jewell it Glue

My Fiskars Ultra Shape Express cutter (my new favorite tool!)

well, you get the picture..

My new SC August kit arrived the other day, but I haven't even opened it yet because I am still working through my July Studio Calico/A Million Memories kits which I combined since they blend so well together. I must say that I really enjoyed working with all the MM Passport Collection.
Here are some layouts from my week at the beach and the balloon festival.

That's all for now..Thanks for looking!!

Obsessions-Thickers & Heather Bailey

mirror, mirror.....

So some of us like shoes and purses..Scrapbookers like to collect American Crafts Thickers letter stickers..What is it about these little guys that are so addictive? The fresh colors? The unique textures like vinyl, foam, chipboard, glitter?? The fantastic fonts??I don't know, but I sure so love 'em..My major complaint though is, why do I always run out of those so important letters?? I have trouble with E's, S's, A's, and O's... Some sets seem to have more than others..I don't know..It's just one of life's great mysteries, I guess..
Speaking of loves..I am also loving the new Heather Bailey line from Autumn Leaves.. At first it reminded me a lot of the Amy Butler Line, which I love, but already have a lot of so I wasn't doing backflips to buy much of HB's line..It is so different from that..It has more of a Lily Pulitzer-Palm Beach vibe..So perfect for Summer photos..It also works so well with the baby blue glitter thickers and hot pink Hambly accents from the AMM August Kit. Love, Love, Love..I gobbled that kit up..I think I may need to get a few more sheets of this fabulous paper.
Here are some of the layouts I did from the kit:
After using this kit, I was inspired to get out some old Glitz Designs hot pink damask paper that I had stashed away. I made this layout with it using an old ribbon/buckle that I had save from a Sephora gift box from a couple of years ago.
Thanks for reading! Have a lovely day!

Birthday Mini, a couple of Layouts, & an August kit

It is my grandmother's birthday next week. She is in her upper 80's and still working and running around. I thought I would send her a quick mini-album of Isabel, her great-granddaughter, that I worked on this morning. I used a mini Bazzill book that Blue Moon Scrapbooking sent me one time with my order. They always throw in cute little extras with your order. I love that!
This is a layout I did using a bunch of stuff I got in the Target $1 spot a few months ago. Someone please restrain me if they see me in that area..How can a cart of dollar items turn into a $50 bill at the checkout???
I won a giveaway over at the A Million Memories website and got a whole pack of the new SEI Poppy paper and embellishments. Here is a layout I did using some of the gorgeous paper and some Prima crystals:
I also did two layouts using the Bad Girl's July Kit. I never get tired of using those Sassafrass Lass papers....
Finally, My A Million Memories August kit arrived in the mail..
It is chock full of Heather Bailey, Hambly, Butterfly goodness. I can't wait to use it! The colors are so fresh and pretty.
That's all for today... Thanks for stopping by!

August days are here

It has been practically a week since my last blog post, but I have a good excuse.

You see, I was here:
here:
and here:
We went to the Jersey shore last week for a little relaxation.
We played at the beach
saw dolphins swimming in the ocean
went on lots of rides at the boardwalk
and ate lots of seafood
and yummy ice cream.
Luckily the weather was just beautiful when we were there and the ocean was very warm. I think I took over 400 pictures that I am REALLY trying to narrow down to under 200. We shall see how that goes.

Needless to say, I only got a few layouts done earlier in the week including two from my July Bad Girls Kit:

and a layout using some MM Noteworthy, Jenni Bowlin, Prima crystals and flowers:

Thanks for looking and have a great day!
