Last of the Valentines...

This girl loves her candy!!! Now..I only have to get her to visit the dentist!!!

Wow! It's the end of Feb. I thought I would get this post in before it turns into March and all the hearts, candy, and flowers of Valentine's Day become a distant memory...I did a bunch of Valentine's layouts using my AMM Feb. Kit and some bits and pieces from from my stash.

This layout was greatly inspired from a layout I saw in the Jan/Feb Memory Makers. I dug out some older papers and this old MME bird transparency..

Speaking of inspiration, I get so many ideas from magazines. This layout from last year's Scrapbook Trends struck me as very similar to a photo I had just developed of my daughter and some supplies I had picked up in Michael's from the MM Chloe's Closet line.
I can't take credit for the layout, but I thought I would share it anyway...

In other news, my Feb. Bad Girls kit arrived..Once again, Wendy puts together a fabulous kit..She always supplies so many papers and keeps her kits chock full of great embellishments.

Here's two layouts from the kit..

That's it for now...So long Feb.!!!
Bring on Spring!!!

Happy Early Valentines Day!

I know it is a few days early, but I wanted to wish everyone a very happy Valentine's Day.
My daughter has a little party at her school tomorrow so I made her teacher a little present using a Maya Road lunchbox that I altered.

The front has a Maya Road chipboard heart/wings that I crackled and glittered and added some buttons to. I made a little keychain attached to the heart using some Prima blossoms and some die-cut tags from K & Co.
On the back, I adhered a piece of BG patterned paper, as well as some layered flowers and another die-cut. Along the top and the box border, I layered, adhered, and tied a bunch of pink, brown, and white ribbons to it.
The best part about the box though, are the sweet treats inside. There are three different varieties of Hereshey's Kisses: Hot Cocoa, NY Cheesecake, and Peanut Butter. Yum!!

In the spirit of Valentine's Day, I did two layouts using some stuff I had in last year's V-day stash, as well as, the awesome February "A Million Memories" kit.

Have a Sweet V-day!!!

Vintage Styling

Everything old is new again isn't it?? It is just amazing how much we all gobble up the retro-vintage scrapbooking supplies. The trend is far from over as I know many of us (myself included) are anxiously awaiting the new arrivals from Jenni Bowlin, Melissa Francis, 7 Gypsies, etc... Even a lot of the major lines are devoting some time and energy to retro, like K & Company's "Cut & Paste" and Sassafrass' "Vintage Yummy". I love using vintage for both my own old photos, as well as, the latest and greatest pictures. It just adds that timeless quality to our scrapbooks. Just my opinion...

Here are a couple of layouts from the January "A Million Memories" Kit:
They definitely use quite a bit of vintage-inspired touches.

Love the lace, pearl, old key look. So soft and sweet.

Those little Jenni Bowlin birdies made me think of my little one when she was a little chickie.

Use my MS Lace punch to add to the vintage feel of these papers and am still loving that JB crepe ribbon...

That is all today..Have a great Thursday!

Fairy Tales

Hello! It's been a while, but my scrapping has been at a lull after the holidays and I have been just trying to reorganize and get my supplies in order.. I think a lot of us are thinking of Spring and fresh, bright colors to get us out of the cold, Winter doldrums, especially after reading ablout all the new goodies coming at us from CHA.
I was perusing Katie Watson's blog and noticed that she just posted a mini using the same Maya Road butterfly album that I had just completed working on this week.
I have been meaning to use these sepia toned photos of my daughter in her fairy costume for a while, but I have been waiting for the right papers and embellishments. I decided to wait no more and used my January Bad Girls kit, as well as, some Webster's Pages items that I had been holding on to for quite a while.. I am quite happy with the results of this little mini..

That's it for now..Just wanted to say hello and share..Thanks for reading!!!

Just Chillin'

Love this new AC Teen Line! Esp. that ring pop rub-on!!!

So, here it is mid-January and it is cold and drab...and I am so over the holiday layouts, but I thought I would post a few more before I call it quits. With all of the CHA sneaks and previews, I am ready for Spring and some new products..I guess we will just have to wait a little longer.

A little K&Co. Swell Noel--I really loved doing Holiday with lots of turquoise this year.

I got these Huge candy cane stickers from Reminiscence a couple of years ago and I finally got the chance to use them.
Loved those Maya Road chipboard swirls from the AMM Dec. kit.

I am surprised how much I liked doing this layout with just Basic Grey papers and stickers.

Finally, here is my Maya Road house chipboard album from the AMM Dec. kit. I turned it into a mini book about the Gingerbread Displays we saw at our arboretum.

That's it for now. Stay warm and cozy and have a great Thursday!

Happy New Year!

Tonight we mark the end of 2008 and begin our new adventures in 2009. I always make time to clean and organize this time of year as most of us try to do. But first, I need to put that tree and all that Christmas fanfare away...ugh!..

I have been busy scrapping holiday/winter layouts and I thought I would share a few product faves with them:
This layout is from the Dec. AMM kit-Loving that Jenni Bowlin Crepe Ribbon and the Holiday Bingo Cards--'08 was definitely the year of that BINGO card!
You just gotta love that Anna Griffin holiday paper from last year. I wish her paper lines were easier to find. The only major presence she really has is on QVC. I added some tinsel ribbon from last years Making Memories Halloween line and glittered a Jenni Bowlin birdie.
This layout took a while as I handpainted the chipboard letters and houses and then added some puffy paints to create the frosty snow look. I also used some of the MS gingerbread felt that I got in Michaels and painted them as well, to give them the look of little cookies.
In this layout I used some My Mind's Eye papers and embellishments and added some Pink Paislee green apple Pixie Dust. Birds were still very hot this year as we all know...
Finally, this layout came from the Studio Calico Dec. Kit. I added some of my own frilly paper twirly thingies. Love the American Crafts Flair and those Silver MM alphas!

Well, that is all for now..I just want to wish everyone a wonderful 2009 and can't wait to see all the creative inspiration you ladies give me in the coming year!
Happy 2009!!!

Gingerbread Wonderland...

It has been somewhat of a tradition to visit the "Gingerbread Wonderland" at the arboretum by my house. Every year, they put on a display of gingerbread creations made by local schools, clubs and families.
It is so neat to see all the adorable little houses all lined up.

I am always inspired to create my own gingerbread house after visiting, which I made yesterday with a little help from my 3 year old:

Here is the finished product:

I used one of those Wilton kits (no, I am not going to take the credit that I baked the gingerbread myself, but I did assemble the house). I think it came out pretty good for an amateur, that is..

Lastly, I made a couple of layouts. One using my old Basic Grey Mellow paper:
This one with the AMM Dec. Kit:
And this one with some Christmas paper from a My Mind's Eye paper pad that I picked up in Michael's a few weeks ago:

That is all for now..Must get started on my holiday baking..well..maybe tomorrow..
